recreating viral pinterest outfits with poshmark
it has been A WHILE! i am so sorry that i’ve been so quiet on the blog over the last like… 2 years, ha. i just get so busy and honestly, wasn’t really feeling inspired. but i’m back with more content!
i feel like social media does an amazing job and telling us we need NEW clothes… like, every single day. i couldn’t tell you the amount of money i’ve spent on clothes that i didn’t need. all because i saw an instagram/facebook ad or an influencer did a haul. i mean, the marketing is working lololol.
BUT it’s just soooo bad for the environment and our wallets, let’s be real. did you know that fashion (especially fast fashion) is the 2nd most polluting industry in the world? am i guilty of buying fast fashion and new clothes? yes. will i do it again in the future? yes. but i wanted to make more of a conscious effort to thrift and use secondhand more. there’s really no excuse not to! it’s cheaper and is much better on the environment. which brings me to my first instagram reel!
i took these 4 viral pinterest outfit pins and recreated them using only secondhand clothes from poshmark! it was honestly so fun and i will definitely be doing it again. the details are below! i’ve included screenshots from my instagram reel for reference but you can check out the entire reel below.
outfit one
1. outfit number one is probably my fav! i got this superrrr cute michael kors dress for $25 and it’s normally $175! i already owned the brown belt, which was great. overall tho – i thought i nailed it.
outfit two
2.outfit number two is sooo comfy. this pretty little thing top is normally $25 and i got it for $12. these rebecca minkoff pants were a DEAL. they did have to be altered because i’m so small, but i paid $45 when they’re normally $198.
outfit three
3.outfit three will one day be super cute! the pants are super big on me, but i’m going to go get them altered so they fit better. but everything here was under $20 which is a bargain.
outfit four
4.the last outfit was the HARDEST to find. i wish so badly i could have found a teal dress like that, but this black one was the closest i could find. It’s a size too big, but i’m going to also get his altered so it fits a bit better. i am so in love with the belt tho! such a staple.
and that’s a warp! i hope you enjoyed this type of content. it’s a bit different from what i normally do, but i had a lot of fun making it. let me know what your favorite outfit is in the comments!
