jennifer check diy halloween costume happy halloween! well, almost. 2020 hasn’t been the best year, for any of us, but i couldn’t skip out on my favorite holiday. if you know me, you know making my halloween costume is the highlight of my year. from cheryl blossom to christina aguilera, i had to keep the tradition going for 2020. i am obsessed with the movie jennifer’s body! i don’t think it gets enough credit for how good of a horror-comedy it is. plus, megan fox is smokin’ and does such an amazing job as jennifer check. i thought her prom dress would be easy enough to re-create! it’s also one of my favorite scenes with so many iconic lines. DISCLAIMER! (is that how this works? idk) it bothers me SO bad that my top row of lace is too close to the top. if you compare it to her prom dress, my top row of lace should be closer to the second row and more towards the bottom. it bothers me so bad. and i know you probably wouldn’t have even realized until i pointed it out, but i am such a perfectionist. regardless, here’s how i made it! *everything is linked below. comment below or send me a message on instagram if you have any questions! jennifer’s body prom dress diy i first started with the base of the dress. i’m not a seamstress, so creating her dress from scratch wasn’t really an option for me. i used this dress here from forever21 to start. i then bought about two yards of white sheer fabric (i don’t really know how to describe it) to put on top of the dress to give it that layered prom dress look. i really only needed like one yard, but i wanted extra just in case. i could have sewn this fabric all around the dress, but it’s 2020 and i just didn’t want to put in that much effort. so i literally used fabric glue and glued it around the entire dress. after the top sheer layer was added, i then took some black lace ribbon and started gluing it (again) around the dress. this is where i should have made the top lace closer to the bottom, but oh well. again, i could have sewn this, but gluing worked just fine. the dress is basically destroyed in the end with blood…

the best clean beauty brands
the best clean beauty brands finally! it’s here. i’m sharing with you my favorite clean beauty brands. i’ve been working on transitioning my beauty products, household products, and clothing to more sustainable and clean brands. it’s been a process, to say the least, but i think it’s important. once i started researching the ingredients that were in all of the products i was using, i was SHOCKED. i can’t believe these products and brands aren’t regulated more. especially when they are directly touching your skin! i read somewhere (i think, idk, coulda been anywhere) that your body can absorb like 70% of what you put on your skin. so BRO, i do not want harmful junk seeping into my skin and body. maybe i’m just paranoid and a hypochondriac, but it can’t hurt to want to be using products that are on the cleaner side. i struggle with acne, so when it comes to makeup and skincare, it can be really hard to navigate. i do believe that not all “natural” ingredients are good for your skin, but not all synthetic ingredients are bad for your skin either. it’s about finding the right balance! there are so many amazing brands out there, but these are just a few of the ones that i’m currently loving. again, i struggle with acne, and not one of these products has caused me to breakout. i swear my skin is SO sensitive too. so if they’re working for me, i bet they’d work for you too! if you also struggle with your skin. ok, i’ll stop babbling. leggo. [reminder: everything is linked below] ilia to say i’m obsessed with ilia is an understatement. i’ve been using their concealer, mascara, eyebrow gel, multi-stick (blush, eyeshadow, lip), and super serum skin tint. every single product is amazing! one of my favorite things about this brand is that they mix skincare and makeup. i wish more makeup brands did this!!! your skincare and your makeup should be going hand in hand. you can’t have a dope makeup routine if your skin/skincare is lacking and vice versa. their super serum skin tint changed my life! it has spf 40 and is the perfect light layer of coverage for the summer months. i’m also so in love with their concealer, it’s SO creamy and has the perfect amount of coverage without looking cakey. their entire brand has the whole…
