UPDATE*** – you can see how these looked at my wedding here – https://www.wordsareforwriters.com/boho-michigan-wedding/ i first found these boho table runners on pinterest (obviously, where all my inspo is from) which brought me to the shop on etsy. i’m sure you’ve seen this shop before! they make amazinggggg table runners! their reviews are so great and their photos are perfect. originally, i was going to buy our table runners from this shop because i trusted them and they were exactly what i envisioned. after budgeting and figuring out how much money we had to spend on decor, these table runners were way over what i wanted to spend. if you know me, you know i’m a sucker for a good diy project! and just because i couldn’t buy these, didn’t mean i couldn’t have them. so! i did some research and figured out that these weren’t actually as hard to make them as i thought they would be. if you’ve got a few hours, they are totally doable! so, let’s get started. what you will need yards of cheesecloth (i got 100 yds from amazon and used 90 grade linked here) rit dye (their website is great at helping you find the right colors) buckets for water scissors/measuring tape to measure/cut the cheesecloth racks to hang the cheesecloth for drying measure and cut i had two friends help me make these, which was a blessing! it made the time go by fast and having the extra hands made everything a lot easier. the first step is to measure and cut! you’ll want to figure out how big your tables are and make sure you add a few feet to the edges so that it hangs over. for our wedding, we will have 8ft farmhouse tables – so we cut each table runner to be about 12ft. this way it hangs over the edge a good amount! i bought around 100yds of fabric and we were able to make around 20 table runners all together. by measuring and cutting the fabric first, it makes the process so much easier! i saw a few tutorials where they dyed the fabric first, but if you know how big your tables are already, it’s just easier to do this first. make your dye the rit website has every color you could dream of and they tell you exactly how much dye you…

public goods products review as you know, part of my 2019 resolutions was to switch to more chemical free products. i just find it way better for the environment (obv) and better for my body as well! everyone has different goals, but this was really important to em. so if you’re interested in chemical free, organic products, here is my review of public goods products! for a while i contemplated making my own products with essential oils. i have a friend who does that, and she’s amazing at it. but when it comes down to it, i don’t have the time. i work full time and between that and just spending time with my dog and family, it can be tough to put extra time aside. i am SO thankful my friend taylor told me about public goods. i swear this post isn’t sponsored by them! i am just genuinely so happy and pleased with my experience. i literally love every single product i’ve tried of theirs so far. every. single. one. i know, that’s a bold statement. but hear me out! their product are: vegan gluten free zero waste organic tree free vegetarian i know, it sounds too good to be true. BUT IT IS TRUE! on top of that, they smell AHHHMAZING. every single one of their products is made with ingredients that are safe for you and the environment. no crazy weird harmful chemicals. EVER. plus, their packaging is so simple and clean. it actually makes the spaces in my apartment look cuter. their products are also SO affordable. you just pay $60 for a yearly membership (kind of like the gym but like 100x cheaper) and you get all of their products basically at cost. ok, i’m going to stop rambling so i can talk about a few of the products i’ve used. so far, i’ve ordered and tried body wash hand soap lotion toothpaste deodorant sunscreen lip balm sea sponge surface cleaner glass cleaner bathroom cleaner dish soap dishwasher detergent laundry detergent wool dryer balls wow, ok, that’s so many. i didn’t realize it was so many until i just listed everything out and linked it all for you. but my goal here is to use as many planet/body friendly products in my home and on my skin as possible. everything is basically made with essential oils. fricken cool. i’m not going to write a…
Read Morereview of drunk elephant skin care
hello! i’ve had so many of you ask me for this review, so i thought it was about time i got it up. my drunk elephant skin care products review! i got a few of drunk elephant’s skin care products for christmas, so i’ve been using them for about a month now – a little over. if you don’t know what drunk elephant is, it’s a skin care brand that has been crushing it lately. all of their products are super clean and chemical free. i would say that the biggest turn off of these products is the price tag. a lot of people (understandably) don’t want to try them because they are on the higher end price tag wise. so i’m hoping this review helps you out! i’m hoping it helps you decide if it is or isn’t worth the price tag. my skin type/history first, i think it’s important that we talk a little bit about my skin. everyone has different skin issues they want to address and there is not one product that will work for everyone. if you’ve been following along on my blog (or instagram) you will know i’ve been dealing with really bad combination skin and acne this year. it has been a struggle to say the least. i’ve also been trying to change out all of my skin care/home products to chemical-free/clean. which is one of the reasons drunk elephant appealed to me so much. because of my acne right now, i would say that my skin is very combination. it kind of does whatever the weather is doing. if it’s dry out, my skin is super dry, if it’s humid out, my skin is super oily. when the weather is just kind of in between, i would say that my skin is more on the oily side. please also keep in mind that i am on a few different prescriptions for my acne right now – which i’m sure 100% affects my thoughts on these products. for reference, i am currently using clindamycin and well as tretinoin. just incase anyone else has used those in the past or is currently using them as well! ok let’s get on with the review! jelly cleanser if you’ve ever used the glossier milky jelly cleanser, this is pretty similar to that. i only bought glossier’s cleanser once, so i don’t want to fully compare them,…
